INDIA, Chennai (BNc) – Brother P. A. Jesudoss, preacher of the gospel and long-time teacher at the Chennai Teacher Training School, suddenly passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
Brother Jesudoss taught Bible classes at the CTTS since 1995 and preached for three area congregations. He was on medical leave for a while because of severe heart problems and diabetes. Last year, as he was slowly recovering from a heart attack, he also suffered the untimely passing of his wife. After regaining his health somewhat, he resumed teaching but has been teaching only one Bible class each day. He stayed in an apartment at the school during the week, so he would not have to commute.
Dennis and Beth Johnson, who have worked in Chennai for many years, commented: “As he left here Friday evening, we did not realize that would be the last time we would see him alive. We will certainly miss brother Jesudoss!”
The Chennai Teacher Training School has been in operation since James A. Johnson and J. C. Bailey established the school in 1965. It was upgraded to a three-year school in 1985. Each year the curriculum for all three levels includes 18 classes per day taught in both the Telegu and Tamil languages. During the three-year course of study, every verse in the Bible is studied.
The school is sponsored by the Hillcrest church of Christ in Stephenville, Texas.
