CASTLE ROCK, Colorado (BNc) – Christians interested in evangelizing French-speaking nations came from 15 States and 7 countries for prayer and discussion at Castle Rock, Sept 18-21.
The key-note speaker was S.F.Timmerman, 90 years old, who preached in Belgium from 1948 to 1964 and in Montreal, Quebec from 1964 to 1981.
He surveyed French-language mission work in Belgium and France after W.W.II, and delivered the sermon on Sunday morning.
Willie Gley from Togo emphasized seeking the lost sheep, and having the same love for them that the Good Shepherd does.
Jerry Davidson gave an overview of current French-language evangelism throughout the world.
Bren White told about seven new congregations in France, Quebec, Guadeloupe and Martinique. More than 20 speakers gave reports on evangelism in various French-speaking countries.
Special appreciation was expressed for longtime missionaries including S.F. & Maxine Timmerman, Jerry & Alta Davidson, Maurice & Marie Hall, J. Lee & Margaret Roberts, Hilton & Wanda Terry, Doyle & Barbara Kee, Ed & Anne Ritchie, Wanita White and Bonney Tirey.
French-speaking evangelists, missionaries and former missionaries are working together in the body of Christ to spread the gospel throughout the French-speaking world.
The meeting was graciously hosted by the Castle Rock Church of Christ.
