DALTON, Ga. (BNc)- Following close on the conclusion of the 2008 lectures, the elders of the Highland congregation decided Jan. 27 the dates and theme for the 2009 North Georgia Winter Lectures.
The theme will be, “Where Do I Go From Here?”. Subjects will include marriage, temptation, the new convert, the golden years, fatherhood, motherhood, death of loved ones, the Great Commission, the afterlife.
With the dates set for Jan. 18-29, 2009, one significant change will be ending the lectures on Tuesday night rather than on Wednesday. The Monday and Tuesday sessions will include afternoon lectures with an open forum to provide the same number of lectures.
“This will compact the lectureship and hopefully boost our attendance,” Barry Gilreath, Jr., lectureship director, said.
Also, the Monday of the lectures will again fall on Martin Luther King Day, a national holiday. This enables some who would normally work on Monday to be present for that day.
