Update: Preacher and wife murdered at home in Miss.

FULTON, Miss. (BNc) – A retired preacher and his wife were found murdered at home late Friday night.

Fred and Mildred Joy House, ages 77 and 79, were found by their son Tom at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Tom preaches for the Plainview congregation, in the Fulton area (see his Polishing the Pulpit bio).

Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department apprehended Jake H. Carpenter, 29, of Fulton, as a suspect in the homicides, according to WTVA, after he was found driving the couple’s car in Russellville, Ala., early Saturday morning. Continue reading

GENEVA, Ala (BNc) — Margaret Ann Warren Williams, age 94, of McMinnville, TN (Daylight Community) died Wednesday, January 12, 2011. She was born May 14, 1916, in Warren County, TN, was a homemaker, member of the Earleyville church of Christ and an elder’s wife. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by parents William Thomas and Willie Mae Sanders Warren, husband Wesley Brown Williams, daughter Martha Ann Williams Gary, grandson Jonathan Brad Williams, great-granddaughter Hannah Harrison, a sister Alma Milligan and step-brother Alex Stone. Martin family involved in auto accident

MEEKER, Colo. (BNc) —
Vanessa Martin and her children, Stone and Alana, were involved in a very serious car accident Tuesday morning, Jan. 19, in Meeker, Colo.

Vanessa is the daughter-in-law of Cordova church minister Jerry Martin. Paul and Vanessa Martin work with the Meeker church, a small mission congregation in central Colorado.

Stone was airlifted to Grand Junction with his father Paul by his side. Ten-year-old Stone passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 20. Continue reading

Two Christians killed in Okla. plane crash

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (BNc)- Two Christians were among the five killed in a plane crash Tuesday soon after taking off from Wiley Post Airport.

Rick Sandoval and Tim Hartman were the pilots of the Cessna 500 Citation 1 which lost control after lifting off about 3:15 p.m. yesterday. All five occupants of the plane were killed. Continue reading
