FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (BNC) by Adam Cozort — Members of the Middle Fayette congregation were out door-knocking Sat., Oct. 8, in preparation for their upcoming gospel meeting when tragedy struck. Sixteen-year-old Caelyn Adams and another member were walking on the side of the road when a driver high on prescription drugs hit her head on.
The driver sideswiped the other member, Linda Long.
Adams, the oldest daughter of Nicholas Adams, who preaches with the Middle Fayette congregation, was pronounced dead at a local hospital a short time later.
Local news outlets have reported that police arrested a 42-year-old woman in connection with the incident.
In a post on Facebook, Nicholas expressed thankfulness for the many prayers and messages they have received.
He also asked for prayers for Long, who was with his daughter at the time of the incident. Long administered CPR trying to save her.
Nicholas described Long as, “an extra grandmother to my children,” and the event has been traumatic for her.
A wake will be held Wednesday night, with the memorial service on Thursday.

Wow, I’m so sorry to hear this. This is why the Bible says that life is but a vapor, here for a little while, then vanishing away, James 4:14. May God comfort her family with the comfort only He can give.

What a tragedy. How awful! Absolutely heartbreaking. So, so sorry for your loss. Praying for comfort for the family. The woman who hit her desperately needs the Lord. Can someone reach out to her?

We have started arrangements for this but it is not going to be easy. She has hired a lawyer and intends to fight the charges. On the surface she seems to show no remorse. She needs prayers.

She has labored in the heat of the day and has entered into her rest. Surely she is in the presence of Abraham receiving the comfort that belongs to the blessed. God bless her loved ones as they mourn her passing”

We cried and prayed for the Adam’s family, my wife Ruth and I know what it is like to lose a precious only daughter and also our oldest son in horrible accidents. We lost our Kerrie Sue Martin on Jan. 9,2001 and son on May 9,2007. We send our prayers and tears to this family! She was 40 yrs old and Daniel Ray Balcom was 55.

She did not die in vain…she was engaged in inviting people to attend a gospel meeting…we can say that she died for Christ’s sake. I believe she was a martyr in the sight of Jesus…may Christians like her increase and her life an inspiration to all.
