SPRING HILL, Tenn. (BNC) by Craig Evans — Today was an awesome day in the history and future of my church family, the church of Christ at Spring Hill. There were so many powerful things about today as we came together to praise God and to encourage one another to love and good works. There were so many thing that I praise God for:
I praise God that we had over 370 for Sunday School, over 530 for morning worship, and over 300 for tonight’s service. These are our largest Sunday School and Sunday morning worship numbers in the history of this church family.
I praise God for our shepherds, current and former, who have led this church family to where we are today and where we are going in the future.
I praise God for his word, the Bible, that was preached and read today.
I praise God for the awesome singing that took place today. The voices in this building sound awesome.
I praise God for answered prayers. This building, every person in it, and the soul that was saved are all answered prayers.
I praise God for my mama Brenda Evans driving over to support me and worship with us.
I praise God for six years as the preaching minister here.
I praise God for Margaret Robertson who has been a member of this church since the 1950s and has now worshiped in all three buildings this congregation has had.
I praise God for being a part of a church family where no one responds alone.
I praise God for young people who take notes during the sermon as they listen to God’s word being preached.
I praise God for people who are touched with emotions to smile and cry and they worship God and experience His Presence during singing.
Today my favorite part was not the numbers or even the singing, but baptizing Jack Adams into Christ for remission of his sins (I love wet sleeves), and seeing another member admit he had walked away from God and wanted to draw back near to God.
I praise God for being a part of a church family that values vulnerability, being real and confession and to see that met with tears, hugs, smiles, prayer, encouragement, and support.
I praise God because he is worthy, and there is a future, and the future is as bright as the promises of God!
