SOMEWHERE IN AFRICA (BNc) — Barry Baggott is in the process of setting up a new teaching center for World English Institute in a sensitive area in Africa. He wrote recently:
“A man who came to Bible studies signed up on the WEI website, did the introduction lesson and was assigned a teacher. In my report I mentioned visiting him in the hospital. Today I received word that he had died.”
The deceased man’s WEI teacher has been notified of the death.
“This certainly points to the urgency of our call! People are dying every day without the Lord,” Jan Towell, WEI coordinator wrote.
Evangelist Charles Pledge wrote on Facebook this morning about Paul’s phrase “redeeming the time,” and the need for urgency.
“There are many reasons the time needs redeeming. First, evil is always present to pounce on and take the time, circumstances, and opportunities using them for evil purposes. Any efforts to redeem the time must consider this fact. Second, in redeeming time, we all need to consider what Paul exhorted the Corinthians to remember that today is the day of salvation. In short, feel the urgency of the fragile nature of life and do it now. Now is all the time anyone has, so do it immediately,” he wrote.
The World Population Review website notes that “Africa is the second-largest and second most populous continent on earth with an estimated population in 2013 of 1.033 billion people. Africa is home to 54 recognized sovereign states and countries, 9 territories and 2 de facto independent states with very little recognition.”
