Perry B. Cotham

GRAND PRARIE, Tex. (BNc) — Gospel preacher Perry Boyd Cotham passed from this life to his reward about 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 26.

On Jan. 5, 2013 brother Cotham celebrated his 101st birthday. A special party was held for his 100th birthday.

Nehemiah Gootam, director of the Kadinada (India) School of Preaching, wrote to BNc, “In all the trips bro. Perry Cotham made to India, he worked with myself and the Kakinada School of Preaching. I conducted 15 lectureships for him, drawing 4000 to 5000 people every year to the campus. In all these years he became a popular preacher and liked by many in India. Because of his preaching we were able to baptize 15,000 people through these lectureships.”

The editor also remembers participating as a university student in a campaign effort in Aylesbury, UK, in 1977, in which brother Cotham was the speaker.

He was the author of several books and tracts.

Perry was born Jan. 5, 1912 near Murray, Ken. His parents were Benjamin and Nannie (Boyd) Cotham, who were active members of the Antioch church, south of Farmington.

He married the love of his life, Teresa Overby on June 25, 1936. They had two sons and one daughter. Teresa was born Sept. 17, 1914, and passed away Jan. 7, 1998.

Brother Cotham’s funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 2, at the Crosspoint church building, at 3020 Bardin Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.

BNc will publish a eulogy of brother Cotham next week.
