KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (BNC) by Jim Waldron — On the 9th of March I boarded a plane in Memphis to return to Knoxville, after reporting to two congregations in West Tennessee about our work. As I was about to sit down, I heard a man directly behind talking on his cell phone. In his conversation he used a crude phrase used by worldly people to denigrate others.
So I decided I needed to do something to help him. Thus, when our plane landed at the Knoxville airport, I quickly got up, introduced myself, and, in the midst of a brief conversation, I asked him if he was a religious man.
He replied that he was, so I offered him a tract: “The Gift of the Holy Spirit,” and he took it. It has my name and address on it.
It would be a rare thing for us to ever meet again in this life, but we will meet at the judgment bar of Christ as it is written,
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Cor 5:10).
I tell this brief story to illustrate the urgent need to carry tracts in your purse, pocket, or pickup to give away randomly to anyone that you can.
Remember what Peter said about being ashamed or embarrassed about serving Christ (1 Peter 4:16).
To help you in such an effort, we have a large number of tracts we would like for you to help us distribute. Write to Box 1010, Crossville, TN 38557, for a list of all our free literature; or go online.
Jim does extensive work in Asia. This story was excerpted from his mission report, sent today by email. For more sources of tracts, see the list in the entry in WiseBible.
