GREENVILLE, Alabama (BNc) –– Mrs. Hazel Marie Stone Curlee, a resident of Greenville, Ala., formerly of Titus, Ala., went to be with her Lord on Sept. 29. She died quietly, at home, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Curlee was born July 31, 1913. She was preceded in death by her parents Dave and Elsler Church Stone, her husband Charlie H. Curlee, her infant daughter Dorothy Jean Curlee, two brothers Thomas and Raymond Stone, three infant brothers, a nephew Ray Stone, and by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Box and her husband Charles, by three grandsons: Philip Box and his wife Paige, Mark Box and his wife Holly, David Box and his wife Amy. She has 6 great-grandchildren: Bayley Box, Brayden Box, Brantley Box, Bryson Box, Brewer Box and Ethan Box. She is also survived by her sister, Claudia Stone Labriola, her sister-in-law Frances Stone and by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Curlee was a hairstylist and retired from Gayfers Beauty Salon after 36 years. She was a faithful member of the Walnut Street church in Greenville.

Family will receive friends at Gassett Funeral Home in Wetumpka on Monday, Oct. 1 from 6:00-8:00 pm, with services in the Gassett Chapel on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 11:00 am. Ministers will be Philip Box and Charles Box. The family will receive flowers, or memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Curlee’s honor to: Guyana, Mission Fund % Walnut Street Church of Christ, P.O. Box 551 Greenville, Alabama 36036.

Her family said, “Our lives are richer and fuller because we shared her love.”

Pallbearers will be Philip Box, Mark Box, David Box, Jason Barrett, Wayne Ward, Charles Labriola, Paul Labriola, Jerry Grant, James Earl Church, Billy Peavy, and Dave Stone.
