An American tourist attacked by a wild elephant in a Chinese nature reserve, according to news reports, is a Christian and a 2007 Freed-Hardeman University alumnus.
The FHU alumni site said that Jeremy Allen McGill was seriously injured after he was apparently attacked by wild Asian elephants roaming in a nature reserve in Southwest China’s Yunnan Province on Thursday, officials confirmed yesterday.
As we have further information about McGill, we will publish it. The reports say McGill teaches English in the central Chinese city of Wuhan.

Jeremy was transported to Bangkok Hospital (http://www.bangkokhospital.com/eng/index.aspx) Monday evening (local time) and is in the ICU unit there. Sparkie Lovett, also a FHU graduate and teacher in Wuhan, but at a different university, accompanied Jeremy in the air ambulance to Bangkok and is looking after him. One of the local congregations, the Somprasong 4 Church of Christ, is aware that Jeremy is here and has provided accommodations for Sparkie as he looks after Jeremy.
We will have more news as Jeremy gets settled in.
