WINONA MS (WGN)– The World Evangelism School of Missions will host its first missionary retreat May 10-12 at the Maywood Christian Camp in Hamilton, Ala.

The retreat is also hosted by J.C. and Betty Choate, Wayne and Janet Barrier, and the Double Springs Church of Christ, in Cookeville, Tenn.

Featured speakers include Glover Shipp, J.C. Choate, Don Petty, Don Reese, Loy Mitchell, and Gordon Hogan, among others.

All missionaries and friends interested in the future of mission work are invited.

The deadline for registration is May 1.

Everyone attending will have at least 5-10 minutes to discuss their work.

Other Information

The cost is $10 per person per night. This includes food and drinks for the retreat. Payment may be made at check-in.

The accommodations include mostly air-conditioned cabins, men in one, women in another. Fans may be brought for the cabins without air-conditioning. For those who don’t appreciate the camp atmosphere, there is an Econ-o-lodge and a Days Inn about 4 miles from the camp in Hamilton.

What to Bring:

Bedding (for twin size- bunk-beds), towels, toiletries, clothes, etc., lawn chairs (please bring because the only other seats are benches!).

The camp has a fully equipped kitchen, air-conditioned eating/meeting area, an outdoor amphitheatre, lake, playground for children, and plenty of wide open space.

Hamilton is located northwest of Birmingham, Ala., off Hwy 78. When you enter Hamilton, take Hwy 43 South (located at the stop light at the Marion County Courthouse) toward Guin. Stay on Hwy 43 for 3 more stop lights. At this stop light you will see a bank on the right and a pharmacy on the left. Take a left turn here and travel 3-4 miles down this road (Co. Rd. 42). Stay on this road until you come to the Maywood Christian Camp sign on the left.
