God ‘did everything necessary’: WVSOP lectureship speaker

The theme was “1 Corinthians: 1st Century Solutions for 21st Century Problems.”

The lectures were delivered at the Hillview Terrace church in Moundsville, adjacent to the WVSOP campus. Continue reading

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. (BNc) by David Kenney — Andrew J. Robison IV has been appointed Director of the West Virginia School of Preaching (WVSOP), according to the Oct. 2012 issue of its bulletin, “Publishing Peace.”

Andrew had previously served both as an Instructor and Interim Director for the WVSOP.

The decision was made by the eldership of the Hillview Terrace congregation, which oversees WVSOP. Continue reading

Warren center publishes Everett Ferguson on apologetics

VIENNA, W.V. (BNc) – A brotherhood center for apologetics has released a book on second- and third-century apologists by Dr. Everett Ferguson.

The Warren Christian Apologetics Center (WCAC) released the book Thinking-Living-Dying: Early Apologists Speak To The 21st Century, July 15.

The book contains what second and third century writers “believed and defended regarding Christian living, moral questions, and intellectual challenges to Christian faith.”

According to WCAC, this is an offering of “unique apologetics material, not previously published.” Continue reading

Warren Center facility to rise soon

VIENNA, WVa., (BNC) — A new apologetics center dedicated to the defense and teaching of the existence of God may be opening its new facility soon.

The Warren Christian Apologetics Center has purchased land and is set to begin construction soon on a 7,200 sq. ft. building which will include a library, 290-seat auditorium, classrooms and offices, according to Dick Sztanyo, minister of the Pelham, Ala., Church of Christ. Sztanyo is assisting the founders, Charles Pugh, W. Terry Varner and Thomas Bart Warren in the project. The Vienna, WV facility will be completed in the spring of 2011. Continue reading
