Bible Club Goes to the Federal University

JOAO PESSOA, Brazil (BNc)- One of our co-workers in the church in Joao Pessoa, Raniere Menezes, started an English major in the Federal University and 80% of his classes are in English. He had the idea of finding an empty room at lunch time on Fridays and starting a Bible class in English for his classmates.
So we started with an introductory class, during which we asked how many had ever read the Bible before. Out of eight students only two said yes. Read more
Seven Complete Course, One Baptized

CAJAZEIRAS, BRAZIL (BNc)- Seven people received certificates for completing the course, “How to Become a Christian.”
But one young lady received even more when she decided that just knowing how to become a Christian wasn’t enough. Raquel is her name and Helder Sales baptized her into Christ. May God strengthen Raquel in her new life.

Churches Worship Together

SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, BRAZIL (WGN)- In a country larger than the continental US, where congregations are scattered, two churches an hour apart from each other came together Nov. 25 for a joint Sunday meeting.
The church in the Pimentas neighborhood of the city of Guarulhos came as a whole, in a school van and cars, to the meeting of the congregation in Sao Jose dos Campos (SJC). Both congregations are located near the Via Dutra, the main interstate highway between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Read more
Triple Blessing in Teaching the Gospel

JOÃO PESSOA, BRAZIL (WGN)- What a wonderful blessing it is to see someone, with whom you studied the Bible, believe and be baptized! It is also a marvelous blessing to be able to show a young Christian how to teach a personal Bible study and see him do so. Put these two things together, plus one other Christian who also saw that she was capable of studying the Bible with another person, and you have a triple blessing. Missionary David Meadows Succumbs to Cancer

John the Baptist Ate Bad Stuff

Bayeux church celebrates second anniversary

BRAZIL (WGN)- The church in Bayeux, one of João Pessoa’s satellite cities, celebrated two years of existence Oct. 22 with a special Sunday meeting, wrote Joseph McKinney, Jr.
There were 36 present, including 15 from the João Pessoa congregation. David McKinney was the guest speaker, with cake and refreshments following.
One was baptized during the occasion, Elton, performed by Edmilson.
