Turning Pisco Upside Down

PISCO, Peru (BNc)- A major earthquake struck portions of southern Peru on August 15, 2007. One of the hardest hit areas was the village of Pisco.
Most houses in that town were lost, and people’s lives were literally turned upside down.
Faculty and students from the Inter-American Biblical Institute worked quickly to take water, food and other relief supplies to Pisco. This school, located in Lima, has not been long in existence, but is already making a difference in the region. These Christians came to a town that had no congregation of Christ. Their plan was to bring spiritual relief, in addition to the physical necessities. Read more
Church Begins in Central Ga. County

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ga. (BNc)- A county in central Georgia now has a church meeting there for the first time.
Milton Sampson, a retired high school math teacher, initiated the effort and is preaching for the congregation.
Twiggs County is the geographical center of the state. Two families came together to begin meeting in January. Read more
U.S. Heading for Protestant Minority

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNc)- A religious research released Monday which tracked trends in American
religion shows that the U.S. Protestantism is in meltdown and headed for minority status.
We ask brethren for reactions.
The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life published results from its “U.S. Religious Landscape Survey,” based on interviews with more than 35,000 Americans age 18 and older.
The survey revealed that “more than one-quarter of American adults (28%) have left the faith in which they were raised in favor of another religion - or no religion at all.” Read more
Church Begins in Madison, Ga.

MADISON, Ga (BNc)- Thirty-seven people were present at the Hampton Inn for the first meeting of the church in this small town Feb. 24.
The church at Cartersville accepted the request of some brethren in the Madison area to start a congregation there. There are about eight families living in the area and some who are unfaithful. Read more
