MICHIE, Tenn. (BNC) — Some areas of the American South celebrate Decoration Day, a time to decorate graves and remember loved ones who have passed on. The Acton congregation uses the day for an annual special event.

This year, the theme for the May 5 celebration was “Remember,” and the speaker was J. Randal Matheny, BNC editor and evangelist in Brazil.

The theme considered seven things that remembering will do for a person, such as being grateful, courageous, and faithful.

The congregation shared a pot-luck meal, and the night meeting was moved to 1:30 p.m.

During the last session (see photo, above), the material focused strongly on rekindling one’s gift and being strong to teach others.

Forthright Press is making the notes available to new subscribers to the UPLift inspirational list. Those who subscribe to this low-activity list will receive the full notes to the list of seven items.
