ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia (BNC) — One preacher has been evacuated from Mongolia because of a measles outbreak and two others are very sick, Tom Langley of World English Institute said today.

Bill Stewart is “deathly sick,” Tom said. “He has seen a doctor and been given medication for the flu, but I don’t think he’ll be up for a couple of days.”

Adam Dolan will leave the country as a precautionary measure, since he has not been vaccinated against the measles.

Five American preachers are in Mongolia to teach WEI students: Bill Stewart, Adam Dolan, Gary Aragon, Luis Camacho, and Michael OBrian. Several are graduates of Bear Valley Bible Institute.

Gary sent a message from Mongolia today.

Adam is leaving tomorrow morning on the first flight out as precautionary measures, because he hasn’t been vaccinated for the measles and we don’t want him to get sick while he’s here. He would be medically detained from flying and he doesn’t have the finances to stay longer. Bill is still very sick. He has seen a doctor and been given medication for the flu, but I don’t think he’ll be up for a couple of days. Luis and I are going to pick up the Bible studies that both of them had scheduled, so these WEI students will not be left out. Prayers are still very much needed for Bill’s health and Adam’s safe return to the States.

“I can only imagine the fear. Though Ulaanbaatar is a modern big city, you really feel isolated and separated from the rest of the world in that country. I was just there among them all day last Friday,” Tom wrote.
