KENTON, Tenn. (BNC) by Jamie Suiter — McKinley Huey turned 100 years of age on Tuesday, Apr. 12. He still serves as one of the elders for the Kenton congregation.

In the photo with him are his daughter Phyllis (center) and sons Daniel and Amos. Elder Huey has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

His wife Maxine passed away at the age of 76 in 1994.

At 92, elder Huey retired from a farming career of 62 years.

According to daughter-in-law Deborah Huey, “His mind is very good, but he can’t see, McKinley can hear if you talk loud enough though.”

Elder Huey still lives in his own home and has two caregivers that stay with him 24/7 to assist him.

The birthday celebration was held in the fellowship hall at the Kenton church building.

Elder Huey has been a Christian for 85 years, having obeyed the gospel at age 15. What a blessing to have served so many years in the kingdom of Christ!
