LONDON, UK (BNC) — Five female students from Freed-Hardeman University who were studying in Brussels are fine and went to London to stay with Lipscomb University students also studying abroad there, according to Nashville station WSMV.

The Belgian capital was rocked by two separate explosions Tuesday at the international airport and in the subway system, leaving 35 dead and 250 injured.

The students were not in the city at the time of the attack, the report said.

Four of the five students are from the Middle Tennessee area.

About nine Americans were injured in the attacks.

The Islamic State terrorist organization (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attack.
