EDMOND, Okla. (BNC) by Phil Sanders — I got to see Star Wars with Joshua and Jonah Watson (three generations together). I thought it was a great movie, with lots of twists and turns and demanding another movie at the end. It brought back a lot of memories from 1977 (before Josh was born) to the first Star Wars. I had aged along with the main characters, but the connection I had with them in the story was still strong.

I do not believe in the “Force.” I believe in the Lord God and His Son Jesus.

The Force reflects an impersonal pantheism, but the God of the Bible is a person.

The Force was strong, but God is omnipotent.

The Force’s power touched a few, but God can touch anyone and everyone through the gospel.

The Force is mysterious, but we can know God’s will from the Bible.

In Star Wars, the dark side of the Force exists, but there is no dark side of God at all (1 John 1:5).

Jesus personally bore my sins at a great price. Jesus personally was raised from the dead by the power of the Father and the Spirit, so that I might have a future in eternity.

I enjoy fantasy stories, but Jesus is historical and real. I am thankful He is my true Master and Lord.
