BELÉM DO PARÁ, Brazil (BNC) by Nicholas Fowler — Last week, Larissa, the sister of Ramon and Lucas, gave herself to Jesus and had her sins washed away.

Above is a picture of her with her brothers before her baptism. They rode on bicycles for several miles to arrive for the baptism.

Ramon has been in some one-on-one discipling this month, and one of the first questions I asked him was about sharing the gospel with others. He immediately said he hoped to win his sister for Christ.

Ramon and Lucas studied with Larissa about salvation while she was reading with Sherry Harris in the English Outreach project. Everything came together nicely. She has been attending our congregation for over a year now.

The Let’s Talk Belém team read the Bible with about 50 people. They all worked hard from 7:15 in the morning until 9:30 at night every single day for 21 days. Some nights didn’t end until midnight.

At least five are already requesting Bible study and several more show spiritual interest.

There is so much to praise God for after this three-week project, that I don’t even know where to begin.

In Sunday’s church meeting, a young couple came back to the church with their infant son. They requested prayers of forgiveness. They both expressed a desire to be part of the church again.

We had 30 people in my apartment for worship. That is about the limit. Of course, five of those were the members from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., congregation, doing the Let’s Talk Belém project.

Larissa’s baptism was the fifth for 2015. She and one other were influenced by their experience in the Mt of Olives Christian Camp, in São Paulo state.

Nicholas is sponsored by the Mt. Juliet, Tenn., congregation in his pioneer work in Belém.
