RICHMOND, Ky. (BNc) — Jack Hall asked the Richmond congregation June 8, “Are We a Joyful People?” He pointed hearers away from circumstances, positions, and human relationships, to being in Christ, with passages from Philippians and 1 John, among others. He cited Jesus’ betrayal and suffering as a reminder of how saints may still have joy.

His words are timely, coming during a period when Christians are often discriminated against for their faith.

Jack closed with Romans 14.17, “For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
