TARLAC CITY, Philippines (BNc) — Missionary Michael Hildreth got off to a fast start after arriving in the Philippines last month. With some Philippine brethren, he began a new congregation in his target city.

The new work had 26 adults in attendance the first Sunday meeting Jan. 6 in their newly rented quarters.

“Not a bad start! God is good!” Michael wrote.

The building, located on a major avenue, will also serve as their principal means of outreach, a type of storefront evangelism.

The new effort established a goal of converting 100 souls in 2013.

A new website has been set up for the new work.

Michael is overseen by the Sherman Drive church in Denton, Tex.
