Dia da família Recife

RECIFE, BRAZIL (BNc) — Some 800 people from congregations in the metropolitan area of Recife, on Brazil’s northeast coast, gathered Aug. 5 for the annual Family Day, a joint worship service. The service was held in a covered gymnasium of a public school.

The congregation in the Peixinhos neighborhood of the city organized the event.

Featured speaker for the day was Alvaro Pestana, professor at the local Ebenesr ministry training program.

Although area churches have been plagued by progressive influence, many still hold to the old paths. One couple displayed their picture at Family Day on Facebook and proclaimed, “My wife and I are just Christians.”
