Maywood missions retreatHAMILTON, Ala. (BNc) — Over a hundred people interested in world missions gathered May 10-12 to consider the theme “Priorities in Missions Today.”

Maywood Missionary Retreat featured six speakers from several locations around the world, such as the Pacific Islands and Brazil, as well as a number of stateside ministries, such as an Alabama alcohol recovery center for men.

Mission reports included a wide range of efforts as well, including a Mississippi campus ministry and a Florida prison ministry.

The retreat is an annual event held at Maywood Christian Camp and is sponsored by the Double Springs, Ala., congregation and the World Evangelism group based in Winona, Miss. The retreat is open to anyone in churches of Christ interested in world missions.

Ruth Orr, longtime World Bible School teacher, led a women’s class Friday afternoon.

A booklet with several of the messages was also published in time for the event.

Wayne and Janet Barrier, Florence, Ala., organize the event, now in its sixth year.
