September 26, 2011
RAPID CITY, S.D. (BNc) -- Brother Nathan A. Barton, an environmental and minerals engineer, warns us of the danger of passing on untrue claims about the Bible in the following article.
Recently, a correspondent of mine e-mailed me an article I’ve seen on occasion for the past 40 years.
The article claimed that NASA scientists at Goddard Space Flight Center, while calculating orbits of planets and satellites, had “proven” that the long day of Joshua (Joshua 10, when God made the sun stand still) and the reversal of the sun’s motion for Hezekiah (2 Kings 20) had occurred, because it was necessary for NASA to take those events into consideration in doing orbital calculations. ARAPIRACA, Brazil (BNc) – Four months ago, I met an Adventist ex-pastor named Samuel, who after 27 years in this movement abandoned it to become just a Christian.
Sunday, Sept. 18, I and four other brethren went to visit his home in a city 150 km from Maceió.
We had lunch in his home and spoke for three hours on sound doctrine. Everyone marveled at what we heard from him, “I passed all these years lost in a denomination, and I’m starting my spiritual life from zero, starting a new walk toward eternity.” Read more
