Carole Elaine Jenkins suddenly left this life Monday, Apr. 18, at Gateway Hospital, Clarksville, Tenn. She was the wife of veteran preacher, Ancil Jenkins.
Elaine had been bedfast for the last several years of her life but her spirit was unhindered. She wrote numerous cards of sympathy, comfort and congratulations to countless people. Entertaining people in her home was a special delight for her.
She is also survived one son, Allan and his wife Elaine, Houston, Tex., three grandchildren, Jason, Karen in Davie, Fla., Jennifer and her husband Warren Smith of Clarksville, and Joshua from Houston, Tex. Elaine had one greatgrandson, Jacob Allan of Dave, Fla.
She was born Apr. 14, 1937, in Macon, Ga., where she gradated from Miller High School. She graduated from Freed-Hardeman College, Henderson, Tenn., where she met Ancil, her future husband. Her work outside of the home was as a bookkeeper.
Her husband, Ancil, is a prolific writer and gospel preacher. The last few years his attention has been to church history. Her son, Allan is a gospel preacher in Houston, Tex.
She was buried in Macon Memorial Gardens, Thursday, Apr. 21, Macon, Ga., next to her parents. Scott Harp of Buford, Ga., officiated at the graveside service. Memorial services were conducted at Clarksville and Jamestown, Tenn.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to: Partners in Progress, P. O. Box 13989, Maumelle, AR 7211, and Lifeline Chaplaincy 1415 Southmore Blvd, Houston, TX.
