TROY, Mich. (BNc) — Henrietta Carolyn Palmer went to be with her Lord at the age of 82 on Nov. 11, 2010.

Palmer was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Claude Kingins and Lillian Kingins Graham. Devoted wife for 60 years of William R. Palmer, beloved mother of Jan Van Horn (Craig), Tetirick and Ronald W. (Linda) Palmer, loving grandmother of Christopher Palmer, Jessica Van Horn, Bethany Palmer (Joe) Gleason and Joshua Van Horn. Her adored great granddaughter, Caitlynn Jane Gleason, was born on her 80th birthday. She is also survived by her first cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Henrietta was a charter member of the Troy Church, serving there for 55 years, teaching Bible classes to children and adults for most of her life. She loved to sing and was an encouragement to everyone who knew her.

She graduated from Wayne State University with BS and MA degrees. She served in the Lamphere School District, Madison Heights from 1956-1986, as a teacher and principal at East Elementary and Simonds Elementary.

Henrietta liked to travel with her husband, having taken many cruises around the world. She greeted everyday with love and spirit. Her smile will live forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
