MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (BNc) — Charles Byron “C.B.” Arnette, Jr., a resident of Murfreesboro, Tenn., died Thursday, Oct. 14, at his home.

Arnette was a local historian and, along with his wife Louise, owned and operated Arnette Antique Galleries, an antiques auctioning business, for more than 32 years. He was also a prolific writer, having written five books, including an autobiography.

Funeral services were conducted today at the East Main Street church with brothers Julian Goodpaster and Wayne Lankford officiating, and grandson Bryon Sommardahl leading congregational singing. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.

Arnette is survived by his children, Cheryl Lou (Don) Sommardahl, Patrick Len (Deborah) Arnette, both of Murfreesboro, Lori Jane (Jamey) Lanahan of Nashville, and Dana Lyne (Michael) Whitney of Huntington Beach, CA; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was first married to the late Mabel Hadley Arnette and then to the late Sara Louise Kimery Arnette who died in 2007. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Byron Arnette.
