BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (BNc) — The Mount Pleasant church, north of Bowling Green, lost their building to an arsonist last August, but has recently reopened a brand new set of doors.

The congregation met Sunday, July 12, for the first time in their new building, located only a mile from where the old building stood.

With 315 in attendance for worship and several responses, including five baptisms, three prayer requests and one asking for Bible study, the church didn’t let the fire keep them from their mission.

In fact, evangelist W. Tom Hall says that the tragedy has strengthened the congregation and has seen an increase in worship attendance over the past year.

“It was an awesome day of praise and worship,” says Hall.

An open house and public dedication are planned at the building July 19 from 2:20-4:30. All are invited.
