Fort Worth, Tex. (BNc)- The evangelistic effort, Cowtown Campaign, takes the retro approach this year.
Rummage sales, antique stores, online web-pages are filled with quirky or attractive products that are no longer available — retro is in. “Retro-fashion” such as bellbottoms from the 1960s and “retro-furniture” such as that lime plastic couch from the 1950s are making a comeback.
But how about a “Retro-Meeting” fitted with tent, door-knockers and an old-fashion revival mentality? As the sweet psalmist asked, “Wilt thou not revive us again (Psa. 85:6).
Brethren from Lindsay, Okla., teamed up with the Highland Hills and East Arlington congregations to pound the pavement in the Highland Hills area of Fort Worth during “Cowtown Campaign” June 7-14, 2008.
Associated with this campaign is a seven-day tent revival meeting, beginning Sunday, June 8.
The tent will be set up in the Forrest Hill Shopping Center, one block off loop 820 on Forrest Hill Drive.
The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m., with speakers Rick Popejoy and Brant Stubblefield speaking each night. Following the preaching there will be a question and answer time for visitors.
The theme for this year’s “retro-meeting” is “HIS BL08D … the blood of the Lamb.”
All those in the Fort Worth area are invited to explore the depths of that spilt blood and the beauty of that sacrifice.
