CRC Campus in Danger from Proposed Bypass

PARAGOULD, Ark. (BNc) – A proposed bypass near Paragould could split the campus of Crowley’s Ridge College in half, creating potential safety problems for students.
The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department said four routes for the proposed bypass were discussed at a public meeting Feb. 19 at Paragould. Two of the routes would take the bypass directly through the center of the CRC campus. Read more

‘Polishing the Pulpit’ to Hold 14th Meeting

JACKSONVILLE, Ala (BNc)- The fourteenth Polishing the Pulpit Church Conference will be held in the Great Smoky Mountains at Sevierville, Tenn., Aug. 22-28, minister and PTP director Allen Webster announced today.

Prison Outbreak … in Reverse!

CEDAR PARK, Tex. (BNc)- In 2006 we were set to go into the Anambra State prison where we had 64 prisoners who had studied World Bible School lessons and were ready for baptism. We had long awaited this day.
About then, there was an upheaval in Magdugari, Northern Nigeria. It seems that a school teacher had told a girl to put her Koran up. When she refused, the teacher took the book from her saying she could have it back after school. The teacher gave the book back to her, but that night rioting broke out. Read more
U.S. Heading for Protestant Minority

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNc)- A religious research released Monday which tracked trends in American
religion shows that the U.S. Protestantism is in meltdown and headed for minority status.
We ask brethren for reactions.
The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life published results from its “U.S. Religious Landscape Survey,” based on interviews with more than 35,000 Americans age 18 and older.
The survey revealed that “more than one-quarter of American adults (28%) have left the faith in which they were raised in favor of another religion – or no religion at all.” Read more
Seven Complete Course, One Baptized

CAJAZEIRAS, BRAZIL (BNc)- Seven people received certificates for completing the course, “How to Become a Christian.”
But one young lady received even more when she decided that just knowing how to become a Christian wasn’t enough. Raquel is her name and Helder Sales baptized her into Christ. May God strengthen Raquel in her new life.

Church Begins in Madison, Ga.

MADISON, Ga (BNc)- Thirty-seven people were present at the Hampton Inn for the first meeting of the church in this small town Feb. 24.
The church at Cartersville accepted the request of some brethren in the Madison area to start a congregation there. There are about eight families living in the area and some who are unfaithful. Read more

Christian Girls Camp Teaches and Applies Bible
