WINONA, MS (WGN)- Glover Shipp’s book for couples has found new life in a second edition published by Forthright Press. Edited and enlarged with an entirely new chapter, the book also gained a new, shorter title: Covenant Marriage: God’s Blueprint for Couples.

The book contains Shipp’s premarital counseling material and bases the approach to marriage on the concept of covenant, not a contract.

It is used in university classes, as well as church study groups. It seeks to provide both engaged and married couples with a strong perspective on making marriage last.

The book also marks Forthright Press’s foray into the study guide format, with the series title, “Forthright Bible Study Guides.”

Shipp was a missionary in Brazil for 18 years. He was managing editor of The Christian Chronicle. Presently, he serves as one of the shepherds of the Edmond church.

The book was released in September, Shipp’s second by the Forthright Press label. His earlier book is titled Twice as Much Husband, Half as Much Money: How to Enjoy Retirement.

The first edition of Covenant Marriage was published by College Press under the title, Marriage is a Covenant, Not a Contract.
