Missionaries Share Insights, Studies and Stories at Retreat

HAMILTON, ALA. (WGN)- The Lord’s work got a boost when 87 people involved or interested in missions converged on Maywood Christian Camp May 10-12.
Hosted by the World Evangelism School of Missions and the Double Springs, Ala., church, the Missionary Retreat brought together Christian servants with experience on all continents.
Wayne Barrier, of Florence, Ala., event organizer and missionary to the Philippines, India, and Myanmar, stated that the three objectives of the retreat had been met: relaxation, exchange of ideas and information, and education. Read more
Norman Gipson dies

Norman Gipson, long-time instructor at Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbox, Tex., died Monday, 14 May, at 1:05 p.m. A memorial service was held at the Sunset church in Lubbock Thursday, 17. A graveside service was held Saturday, 19, in Grand Prairie, Tex., where he was buried next to his wife Ann.
Gipson also served several years as both preacher and in the school of preaching at Bear Valley in Denver.

Leon Stancliff, Tennessee preacher and author (1927-2007)

Leon D. Stancliff, 80, gospel preacher, teacher, author and Christian friend, passed away at his Murfreesboro, Tenn., home Tuesday, 10 April, 2007. He was a resident of Rutherford County, Tenn., for 45 years.
Brother Stancliff graduated 1953 from David Lipscomb College with a B.S. degree in speech and Bible followed by an M.S. from Middle Tennessee State University and Ed. S. from Peabody College. He taught nine years in public schools before becoming a physical science professor at MTSU where he taught for 28 years. He retired in 1988 after 37 years of teaching. Read more
